I'm a whiny baby who wanted Metroid or something else. Secretly though, DKC2 is one of my favourite games of all time and one of only a few I ever bothered to 100%.
I bought DK:TF and finished it. Never played Returns cuz waggle. TF is polished almost beyond anything I've ever seen and it's a really good game. I really would have liked to see another world. One filled completely with new animal buddies as well as the ones from previous games. Also I agree there should have been more variety in the bonus levels. Bash the baddies and find the coin were good additions in the older games. I didn't like the rocket barrel levels because I felt they were too much like an iphone game like Flappy Bird. The mine cart levels I enjoyed though.
Overall it was a little disappointing for me, but credit where credit is due: the level design is incredibly precise, the graphics are lovely and the music, while being one of David Wise's weakest efforts, is still head and tails above what most game composers put out. It was a refreshing challenge too and the fact that I actually wanted MORE content means I enjoyed myself while playing it.
7.9/10 for me. Just shy of greatness.
