Cant compete with what exactly ? its not like ninty makes games that directly compete with most 3rd party games.

Ever since the N64 days, the few 3rd party titles that were on Nintendo consoles, would usually be overshadowed by 1st party games. They may not compete directly, but sales are affected indirectly.

They are affected by ninty owners point blank refusing non ninty games.  Nothing much else.
