The thread could have ended here. Nintendo's current relationship with consumers are the result of their own decisions. They choose to not listen to their fans and blatantly tell fans that they're not listening. They decide how third party relations are managed. They decide what type of games they create internally. SONY on the other hand openly listens to their fans and have created a website for fans to share their ideas. SONY&MS works closely with third parties and offer them numerous benefits for their support. SONY&MS both try to deliver a wide variety of flavors with their portfolio of games.
EDIT: Forgot a big one that a lot of people seem to have covered. Nintendo chooses what goes into their box and what it can do. It still blows my mind that the Wii couldn't play DVDs.
