Nintendo "fans" really haven't supported games like Kid Icarus: Uprising, Pikmin 3, DKC: Tropical Freeze, The Wonderful 101, or Xenoblade in the way that these games *deserve*.
I think part of the issue is with the Wii they purposely cultivated and become comfortable with the idea of letting Mario/Mario Kart carry the load which was fine when they were making huge money from the Wii Sports/Fit crazes.
However now that those have died down, Nintendo's software sales look anemic because they basically create an entire console generation where they didn't bother to build other brands.
It's like a body builder who only works out his arms ... his build is going to be wildly out of wack.
