You're right, I did. I found it a quite fitting description of his behavior in that thread.

People who mock others (or flaming as it's known on the internet) don't always get banned. But it is still a bannable offense.

I also suggest you go back and look at his posts in that thread before you say he didn't insult people.

"But you all jump up and down and clap your hands fast if it makes you feel better about your lives"

"....also at least try and show a modicum of background knowledge"

ZaneWane posted: "Never mind. I misunderstood. Sorry."

Kow responded with: "you sure do...sorry... did."

He could have, and should have just gone into the thread said his piece and pointed out that the thread was old news. Instead he insisted on turning things ugly.  ie flamming.

If its bannable then the moderators need to be consitent on it. One person cant be banned while another is let off, and I say this as someone who spends a lot of time here mocking people for being stupid.

I have been in the thread, Ive read the entire thing. You need to look at the context. At who hes talking about/to and why he said it.

The first quote, about jumping up and down and clapping. Hes talking about the people laughing about the situation in the OP and the first post. The 2 tweets in the thread are laughing at the whole thing and the first post is simply "lulz". The topic itself is relatively old news and people are laughing about it (presumably thinkiing its gonna be negative for Xbox).

That much is obvious. I dont see it as insulting at all. The only people who would be insulted by that, would be the people who are guilty of doing it.

Telling someone to educate themselves on the topic at hand, while posting in said topic, I dont think can be classed as insulting neither. He worded it strongly. Could have been nicer about it, could have been ruder. To moderate for an aggressive tone is also unheard of here.

It just sits with me as a very, very harsh ban. I could understand a telling off or a general warning, but a Week long ban for it is steep. Especially steep, when you consider that the one word "lulz", troll/spam post didnt even get moderated.

Selective moderation is bad. There has to be consistency.

He always acts condescending. He has been warned about that in the past many times. That's probably why he got banned.

Which is nothing but a rubbish ruling.

Different people have different posting styles. Some people post in a more aggressive/negative tone (see kowenicki and KylieDog for examples). Some people are always happy and quirky (See Smeags and NintendoPie). Some people dont know the language as well as others and some people are more eloquent.

I just think its a really harsh ban. Like I said, I can understand a warning for the first jumping and clapping comment, but the moderation on the second has me puzzled.
