Nintendo will soon launch game demos and advertising efforts on smartphones and tablets

Come on, Nintendo doesn't even realease demos of their games in their own consoles, why would they do so on mobiles.
And if it's mobile content, it is money and content development spent on another device that should have been invested in their platform.
