how much did it move? what is massive? did it move consoles cause it was DK? or cause that game released during the holidays where Ninty products usually fly off the shelves anyway? im going to go with the former or a combination of both

It was almost single handedly responsible for the SNES leaving the Megadrive in the dust. Caused a resurgence in SNES sales just when interest was starting to wane due to the arrival of the PS1 and Saturn, gave the console a second wind.
