They get more data. NPD simply have more funds/staff to go out there and get the data and thats why the numbers are generally regarded as "correct".
NPD numbers are still estimates, but they offer a better range of accuracy than VGChartz. VGC is growing slowly but surely... But for American numbers you arent gonna get more accurate than NPD anytime soon.
