You spoke of gameplay so I thought it might be interesting to know most racing games dont even feel like cars yet they still sell so gameplay is actually required to be 'not good' for it to be accessible to most people to have fun with.

unless you consider a car that doesnt handle like a car to be good gameplay to begin with which is a bit of a problem and makes my whole comment confusing and pointless.

not sure why an arcade racer should feel like reality to be good in your opinion. people like games like nfs because they have a good arcade gameplay. good doesn't have to be realistic all the time as long as they don't try to be a simulation and feel like mario kart.  we talk about games here, if they would have to be realistic we wouldn't have the shooters, racers or adventure games we have nowadays. and even a game like gran turismo is still not like reality even if it is obviously much closer to it as nfs or ridge racer...

talking about project cars, i think it will be much less realistic as many hope for but if it will feel like a project gotham racing or something similar it will still have very good gameplay (for those who don't want 100% realism). but if graphics would be the main reason to buy the game something would be wrong because it would mean that it isn't great in the simulation department nor in the arcade department. otherwise the gameplay would be automatically the main reason to buy the game for most people.

I at least hope that the game will have good gameplay and great graphics so that people will say "I bought the game mostly for the gameplay"" and not "the main reason I bought the game are the graphics"

Something like Colin McRae/DiRT, a balanced sim and arcade racer. I think Project CARS is going to go full on simulation though.
