He's not wrong to be honest. The game would flop on the Wii U, c'mon even Nintendo fans know this.
The reason this is getting any attention at all is because usually third parties don't come out and say these things bluntly.
The games that sell on Nintendo platforms are party/dance/fitness type games and mascot-style family friendly type titles more or less. And even that may be waning as Sonic seems to have flopped.
