It misses the mark completely.

It is ignorant about why the Wii sold, and it buys into the casual fallacy.

That's what's flawed about it.

Why did the Wii sell?

It removed a lot of the barriers that modern consoles had built up agaist new users, as well as excited people with the potential brought about by its motion controls. The software was a huge driving factor, from Wii Sports to the first 2D Mario on a console in 20 years.

It didn't take down barriers. It devolved the product. It made it less intuitive and more fun. The simpler the product the larger your possible demographic. Sony and Microsoft had the core market under heavy lockdown and Nintendo decided since we cant beat them go after the non-gamers.

Now you're either missing the mark completely, or vastly oversimplifying things.

I LOVE ICELAND!
