You don't think it makes sense that someone reading that post would conclude that this is a Sony fan bashing thread? I mean you can get on his case for not reading the entire thread but you can't talk about how revealing it is he thinks this is a Sony fan bashing thread when there's someone bashing Sony fans just before his post.

No. And I don't think it makes sense that somebody looking at a nail would conclude that the entire house is made of steel, either. Neither the thread title nor the OP engage in Sony bashing, and the post you single out wasn't quoted or otherwise identified by eFKac. He used the word "thread" to frame his complaint, not the word "post," so I see no reason to indulge eFKac's persecution complex.

There are actually three posts in the thread before eFKac posted that talked about Sony fans specifically. The fact that the thread was not specifically intended for Sony fan bashing does not mean it can never evolve into one. Whether or not three posts out of 18 are enough to make something a Sony fan bashing thread is up for debate, but you can't just say "that's not what the OP was going for so that's not what the thread is"

Right, so the thread title isn't Sony-bashing, the OP isn't Sony-bashing, and 84% of all posts aren't Sony-bashing, but that remaining 16% of the thread is worth having a debate over?
I was hoping that by calling eFKac out I'd cause a little self-reflection that might prevent future derailments, but now that I know derailments are no longer considered a problem by the mod team here, the mischeivous voice in my head is wondering where I can apply these low standards to cause some derailments of my own.

Feel free to cause self reflection, but I don't think you're right in this instance that it's all in eFKac's head.
BTW, the classic "oh this didn't go how I wanted it to so I'm going to try to threaten the moderation team with applying this fake standard I think was just created all over the boards and show them what for" is really one of the worst things that users do. So go nuts, but don't PM me when you go too far and get moderated for it.
