Yes, this can be a big problem. Factories don't work all the same, has the same know-how in the workforce and the same procedures or machines. So the quality of output can differ between factories. Usually quality increases with more experience.

Yes, exactly. Usually modern tech has problems in both categories. This "blue pulse of death'-problem sounds like something that can be solved by adjusted procedures in the assembly lines. Maybe it already is solved in the current production (but devices will take some time until they arrive). other problems will show up too, but all will be fine if the rate is acceptable low. Sucks for the people that get a faulty one though. Even if it is one in 100.000.
