No I would support Nintendo if the games were there.
Wii U is not "Nintendo" as a whole and honestly probably in the overall scheme of the company probably won't even be seen as that important in their overall history. I see it as a transitionary console to something else.
For me a Nintendo console is worth the purchase if it has 10 games from them that I really want to buy. And Wii U will cross that fairly soon. As long as it gets a new Mario, Zelda, etc. what's the problem?
I don't need some arbitrary number like 5-6 years of "support" (even though Nintendo generally only supports a console for 4 years really, their 5th and 6th year support is always just padding). Personally I think that's a stupid way to look at a system. Unless you're 12 years old still, you can afford a $300 upgrade every 3-4 years, and even if you can't no one is putting a gun to your head forcing you to upgrade to a new system immediately. The games will still work perfectly fine on a system if you buy it in year 2/3, lol.
Nintendo should've released the Wii U a year earlier if anything really. That last year of the Wii was utterly pointless aside from the 10 people who are hell bent on some abstract idea that "longer generation = more success".
Also gimme 4 years of solid support with many Nintendo IP represeneted (ahem Star Fox and F-Zero and Wave Race too please, not just Mario all the time), and I'll gladly take that over 6 years of the Wii.
