Probably has more to do with the long ass software drought than the gamepad. Just saying...

Here's a list of the first year of releases for the Gamecube (which launched much later than its competition and still outsells the Wii U on a weekly comparison). Here's the list of Wii U releases. Double-check my math on this one, but it seems to me that the number of releases in the first eleven months is about comparable. Software droughts happen for every new console: the Wii U just seems to be selling less than others.

Now, since the Wii U enjoys several key advantages over its beleagured predecessor (including what I would argue is better software releases than the Gamecube received), yet somehow continues to perform even worse, the natural question is "why?" My post was a stab at explaining the reason I believe the console's hardware is flawed. For what it's worth, I happen to think the software is as well, but that's off-topic in this thread, so I didn't breach it.

bolded: NO

and again with this " it's selling bad so the gamepad sucks" excuse?

I literally can't rebut your first point, since there's nothing to rebut. But as to your second: no, and if my position could be so reduced rest assured I would have done so.
