I honestly think it is your own fault you were misunderstood. It is a poorly worded sentence, and is still wrong.
Even if you were right, it makes the common mistake in assuming that having lots of change is good and/or something keeping the same is inherently bad. Pokemon actually does a GOOD job of giving good amounts of new content while not changing what people love about the series.
