I take the future into account, I talk about announcement, not released games. But beyond that it all gets very unclear. There was a time, that Nintendo-fans clearly expected the next Final Fantasy will be on the next Nintendo-system. things do not always turn out as we expect them to do. Even relying on announced games is a bit risky. Look at The Last Guardian. Or not that drastic: look at the 'launch-window-games for WiiU': Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, WiiFitU - all were late. Nearly a year after launch is not launch-window. So our  expectation can be wrong, even on announced games. You want me to rely on future unannounced games?

I don't want you to rely on anything.  This was about another user who clearly stated that he is interested in games coming from top tier developers like R*.

You then made the point that no games exist yet, but that is not taking into account the obvious fact that they wil exist.  Now if that is the basis for his decision on which console t buy.  He should buy the console which has the most likely chance of those games releasing for it.  Whether you want to admit it or not his best choice is to go with a PS4 or XB1 with this criteria, as those consoles are almost guaranteed to have those games.

Could the WiiU have them as well?, sure.  Could they not come out for the PS4 and XB1?, its possible.  However in this situtation we must look at what is most likely to happen because we don't know.  Once again this is his criteria, not mine or yours.

You don't understand my argument. I specifically mentioned The Last Guardian. Yes, maybe there will somtimes a new game from R* or Bethesda for PS4 or XBO. But it could take years. The OP was talking about this holiday, so the console might gather dust until then, if your target is really the next game of R* or Bethesda. Also we don't know anything about unannounced games. It might be genre you don't like or the quality might be bad. R* or Bethesda could also go full PC and/or Steam-machine omitting PS4 and/or XBO completely. Say one of the two consoles skyrocket in sales, the other makes WiiU-like numbers. For simplicity let's say XBO is successful, PS4 not (could be other way around or something completely different). In three years may come the next R*-game and based on the userbase they decide only to support XBO. But you bought on launch the PS4 on the possibility to get the next R*-game.

I answered someone, who specifically said, he wants the next Bethesda/R*-game. But at the moment that are too muchuncertainty about this, to buy a console based on this. It's something different if you say you buy it for Killzone or Titanfall. We know enough about these games, we have a feeling how they will turn out in quality and if they are something we can have fun with or not. We don't know enough about the next games of Bethesda/R*.
