I think we can safely assume that WWHD sold 10-15% more from the eShop, not that that's great, just a little better

Without hard numbers, can we really assume anything of the sort?

I think the digital downloads usually ends up thereabout, so I think its a pretty safe assumption. I dont think its much less than 10% though

What's the basis for the "10-15%" figure?

Several games (Nintendo's own included) are the source. But I admit it's pretty thin.
Nintendo usually gives a ratio between digital and retail sales and even if they don't it's rather easy to calculate using Famitsu numbers for Japan (timed) exclusives.

But it's also rather safe to assume that last gen consoles (PS3+360) are having about a 1/10 digital to retail ratio. Next gen console #1 (aka WiiU) should have a higher ratio simply because it has the highest quota of online connected consoles.

Handheld owners buy even more games digitally (as proven by many many reports about 3DS sales (Animal Crossing *cough*) and also Vita games as well.
I would assume over 20% in most or at least many cases.

Obviously the PC gaming market has a much bigger ratio. Certainly over 50%.
