I move my PC around between my bedroom and living room pretty often. A low end steambox would be useful to me for the game streaming. A console gamer might find a steambox appealing when two years from now even a mid tier PC vastly outpowers the ps4/xbone and they want the best gaming experience without the headaches of typical PC gaming. This is assuming third parties jump aboard and port games to Linux. Otherwise the steambox will be a big failure.
