And in case you were wondering, this makes MH4 the best selling game of the year in Japan so far and adds about another 10% to the 3DS total sales this year in Japan. Also, with this game, the top five games of 2013 in Japan are all 3DS games, 4 of which are new.

Sales for MH4 are only somewhat lower than those of MH3P, despite the 3DS having sold less than the PSP in 2010 in Japan. If MH4 has legs similar to MH3P, it will easily surpass 4 million sales, easily becoming one of the top 20 skus of all time in Japan. If legs are only somewhat better than on the PSP, this can become the best-selling non-Nintendo game of all time in the country.
