Ah, the whole "but it's profitable" angle. The last refuge of a Nintendo fan boy.

lol, you sound hurt cuz of it

With excception of the Wii-U, I have every Nintendo console and handheld that they've MADE. Having been born in 1979, I AM the Nintendo generation. My entire childhood was the NES/SNES. But you know what? None of that can alter reality.

Nintendo is back where it was during the Gamecube years. I remember it clearly, as I stood in line over night to get one at launch, and spent the following years watching it get mocked by core gamers to no end. Everyone loved the Gameboy, but the Gamecube? Lame and kiddy. That's what Nintendo WAS. It seems like the younger generation has this weird, altered view about them due to the Wii and DS where they think Nintendo has and will always be kings. But that just isn't the case. In all my life, which spans the ENTIRE modern console industry, Nintendo only had two dominant consoles (NES and Wii). The SNES took 3 and a half YEARS too over take the Genesis, and only did so thanks to DKC and Sega's shift towards the Saturn. So the facts are, Nintendo's console's have been less popular than not.

Fanboys, of ALL kinds, are the most ignorant and blinded people on earth and this thread is just more proof of it. I mean, when you're going to start arguing company profit? Unless you own stock in them, there's no point. It just pathic and desperate.

Gamecube sold the least hardware by far but its a favorite console to many hardcore fans.

According to your profile, you're 24. This would mean you were around 12 when Gamecube launched and would explain why you feel the way you do and have such a warped perception of the Gamecube. It was NOT the favorite console of the "hardcore" gamer. It was the laughing stock of the bunch. Hardcore gamers back then viewed it as a toy, and it's games were considered kiddy (a term used to mock anything that wasn't rated M or T). It's games were viewed by gamers at the time as being, for the most part, weak immiations of their N64 predecessors.

I love Nintendo, and I don't CARE if they're unpopular. I'm used to it because as I said before, they've almost always BEEN unpopular. My posting in this thread was due to my frustrations with fanboyism and people's inability to accept reality. If people just did their homework, threads like this would cease to exist because only an idiot would think it has ANYTHING to do with profit margins. It's insecurity and ignorance.

I was born in '79. but that's irrelevent. There's no such thing as a hardcore gamer and calling yourself one makes you insecure and kiddy. We're gamers. I beat tons of bad ass games on gamecube. Only an insecure person would be tell some one they have a warped perception of their favorite games and mock them. Just like you calling me a fanboy. I made the thread because the "reality" is profit has a lot to do with success. Some of you gamers have it in your head that Nintendo is doing badly. If you look at the statistics in this thread you'll see Sony and Microsoft are the companies deserving your concern. Nintendo will be here long after they're gone. I've done my homework. That's why I'm showing you the reality that your insecurity and ignorance prevent you from seeing.

No, you made this thread because you don't like the fact that the Wii-U is being ignored and selling poorly. It's called grasping at straws and trying to find an angle that helps you feel better. If I were you, I'd think to myself "What does it matter if the Wii-U sells like crap and no one really cares about Nintendo's home consoles anymore? They're still in business and they still make the games I enjoy playing. Screw everyone else." I wouldn't find a message board online and try to "prove" anything. It's a waste of time and won't do ANYTHING.
