One can very easily make the argument that while the Wii was indeed a runaway success, it was an anomaly in the grand scheme of things pertaining to Nintendo home consoles, as the Wii U is looking to pick right up where the GC left off... a niche console with some neat ideas that tries to appeal to both the family/casual crowd and "core" gamers alike but succeeds in doing neither.

Except one main difference is at least the GC wasn't a generation behind hardware-wise... it launched with what was easily the most visually impressive console game of its time (aside from possibly Halo)... Rogue Squadron II. Melee and Pikmin weren't bad on the eyes either.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
