As a gift? I would expect all the kids to have gotten the game already. 

well, it is a perfect gift to firends if you have minecraft but they don't

but the more important point should be that many still don't have the console connected to the internet. i think xbox 360 has ~50m xbox live members so there should be also a lot of people who have the console always offline. 

and there are still some people who just prefer a disc even if it is only a game with some hundred mb in size.
