I think Nintendo is on the right track with the promotions for Wonderful 101 (buy Pikmin 3 and get 30% off on the eShop) and Shin Megami Tensei 4 promotion with Fire Emblem Awakening.
I feel Nintendo needs to push these types of promotions moreso. First of all, I think there should be a way to see these promotions on the main Miiverse page IMO. The 3DS should also be getting something similar to it. Just so regular people can know more about these promotions and not just the more hardcore Nintendo fanatics.
I would like to see Wonderful 101 pushed hard, I would've suggested maybe something like a bonus Wonderful 101 animated short/demo bundled with each copy of Mario 3D World and Donkey Kong Country: TF. Or maybe pre-installed with every new Wii U. Stuff like that.
Maybe you should get 30% off a eShop version of Wonderful 101 if you purchase Mario 3D World, DKC: TF, or Zelda: WW HD this holiday in North America and Japan. That would help a lot.
I'd like to see much stronger Club Nintendo incentives for purchasing games like 101, X, Bayo 2, and select high-quality third party titles too. I'm talking some really attractive and highly collectible Nintendo swag if you pre-order or buy these games.
I think building a loyal following through Club Nintendo + Miiverse + eShop promotions can mobilize a "hardcore" following on Nintendo platforms, but you really have to incentivize it.
Also 3DS bundles are great, but the Wii U should get some too. I'd like to see a gold Wii U model with Bayo 2 and perhaps even Bayo 1 bundled and a special Bayonetta etching on the side of the console. Maybe even add in a Bayonetta figurine that unlocks the character as playable in Super Smash Bros. (NFC).
