| KBG29 said: The graph has me dumbfounded. Where are the N64, and Gamecube? They each had more RAM than the PS1 and PS2 respectively. Also, how come it does not show the nearly 2x difference between Sony and MS for XBOX vs PS2? Is this a crack at a Rol thread? |
The N64 is that Nintendo dot at 1996. With only 4 MB of RAM, it actually was in that respect less powerful than the Saturn was in 1994. And the PS1 was only slightly weaker than the N64 despite, once again, being released in 1994. The GameCube had only about 10% more RAM than the PS2. Considering how the PS2 was released a year earlier, the GameCube has less impressive specs for its time.
As for the 2X difference between the XBox and the PS2, that is admittedly not very visible due to the way the chart is set up. But once again, the difference is not that great once you consider that the Xbox was released a year later, meaning that it was almost guaranteed to have more RAM.
This is just me looking at some numbers and trying to make sense of them. I might be doing this wrong, but there is no hidden agenda.
