Where are people getting any of this stuff from?

Sources I can find put the PS2 no longer in production (http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2013/jan/04/playstation-2-manufacture-ends-years), with sales (presumably shipment) of 155M, plus the those shipped since Mar 2012, which is going to leave it considerably below the 160 mark, probably around 157-158M total produced, with essentially all of them shipped and sold, and the few that aren't will be soon.

In the April-June Quarter of 2012, the PS2 shipped 1 to 1.1 Million units, maybe more.

Can work it out from things Sony said. PS3 and PS2 did a combined 2.8 Million in the Quarter, while the PS3 was also confirmed down YoY. It shipped 1.8 Million in the Apr-Jun Q of 2011. It leaves a minimum of 1 Million PS2's shipped in the same Q of 2012.

It was sitting between 156.1 and 156.2 Million units at the end of June 2012.

Now. We dont know exactly what PS2 did between June and December. We can guess it just shipped a ton between Jan-March though. Last Year they shipped a combined 2.5 Million units between Jan-March, it was a 1.9M/0.6M split between PS3 and PS2. This Year they shipped a combined 3.4 Million units between Jan-March. Isnt the PS3 also down YoY? Hmm...
