High Tide

29/Apr/2013

The reign of the super heroes is over, replaced by the rise of the zombies as Deep Silver/Koch Media take the No1 spot with ‘Dead Island: Riptide’.

The sequel to the hugely successful ‘Dead Island’ which launched in week 36 2011, matches its predecessor by taking the crown in its first week despite having less than half the sales of the original. In total 71% of sales are for Xbox 360 which includes the special Zombie Bait Edition.

Warner’s ‘Injustice: Gods Among Us’ drops to No2 ahead of Capcom’s ‘Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen’. The release includes all the content of the original ‘Dragon’s Dogma’ which also debuted at No3 back in week 21 2012, as well as a host of new content and features. The crew of the Starship Enterprise land at No4 with Namco Bandai’s release of ‘Star Trek’ coming a few weeks ahead of the hotly anticipated movie. It also makes it the third highest week 1 sell through for a Star Trek branded game. Square Enix’s ‘Tomb Raider’ slips down to No5 while last week’s No2 2K/Take 2’s ‘Bioshock Infinite’ is down to No6. Following the release of Lego City Undercover on Wii U in Week 13 a prequel title comes to 3DS with Nintendo’s ‘Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins’ at No8.

Rising Star Games also sneak into the Top 40 this week with ‘Deadly Premonition: The Director’s Cut’ at No38. The title which launched on Xbox 360 back in week 43 2010 gets all new content and story lines in this latest edition exclusive to PS3.
