I dont think the blame can be put 100% on the game being an MMO. Yeah, its part of the reason... But Final Fantasy managed it with XI at a time when MMOs werent "in". It became SEs most profitable game.
Yes. DQX should have been a traditional DQ game. As it was though, it should never have been a Wii exclusive.
DQXI will be a 3DS game. And the 3DS will continue to get pretty good support from SE (Expect FFV and VI(!) Remakes).
Could also probably expect a XIII Trilogy on Wii U, too.
