Wouldn't the shifting yen/dollar let Nintendo sell the Wii U for much cheaper?
They should now be able to sell the Wii U basic for $249.99 and the premium for $299.99 and not take any more of a hardware loss than they were selling the system in November for $300/$350 simply because yen/dollar fluctuations.
Now that the January/Feburary drought is over (hopefully), March should usher in at least some new releases.
Drop the 8GB basic to $249.99 and bundle it with Nintendo Land. Nintendo Land is going to have to be a sacrificial goat for the Wii U but oh well, it probably didn't cost a ton to develop anyhow.
Drop the 32GB model to $299.99 and bundle it with Nintendo Land and NSMBU.
Get Pikmin 3 out for April/May, Wonderful 101 for June/July, localize Dragon Quest X for the West and offer a couple of months of free online play for the summer. Rush a Bayonetta 1 Directors Cut out to the market for summer. You need some freaking content Nintendo, that's a start at least.
