Honestly, you're probably right. I don't expect Bayonetta to come out any sooner than late fall at this point. I doubt we'll see Pikmin or The Wonderful 101 any time soon, either, although I do expect those to be out this year. We haven't seen or heard enough about any of these games to convince me they're even close to ready. |
Yeah, that's what I reckon too.
I still think Pikmin will cause a small boost in console sales, nowhere near something like Mario Kart or Smash Bros, but still noticeable, as the series does have a modest fanbase. The Wonderful 101, however, I doubt will have any real effect, as it's not a recognizable brand like Pikmin, and it seems to fall into a kind of no man's land where it's not dark enough for the "core" and not simple enough for the "casuals."
LEGO City seems to me to be aimed at an audience who will balk at the Wii U's price tag, so I see it being only a mild success in software sales and having little impact on hardware.
Honestly, until something like Mario Kart or Smash Bros arrives, the Wii U will remain on the runway, I'd say.
