If I were Microsoft...

1. Have a Halo game ready at launch. It doesn't have to be Halo 5 or a remake of 2, but an exclusive Halo shooter at or near launch would be very helpful.
2. Have strong support for Kinect 2.0. A new Kinect Adventures-like game, a new Kinect Sports or Joy Ride game, etc.
3. If possible, launch with Forza 5. I believe this series can come to compete with Gran Turismo if pushed right. Admittedly, a Forza game was released a little while ago, making this unlikely, but a Forza announcement would still count for something.
4. Announce Fable 4. Fable 3 is going to sell 5 million, so this should be a no-brainer. Alternatively, turn that Milo tech demo into something special for Kinect 2.0.
5. Rare should have a Kid-friendly game in the works. I refuse to believe that the only things theyve been working on since 2008 are Kinect Sports. They should have at least something to show.

If all the stars align, Microsoft can have Halo, Fable, Forza, and a bunch of Kinect 2.0 titles within the first year of the NextBox's life.



As for none 1st party title stuff...

1. Try to demo some of the same games confirmed for the PS4. Try to steal it's thunder.
2. Be the source of new game reveals, tying new franchises and/or installments to the NextBox.
3. Create a new Xbox Live that has a ridiculous amount of features. Make the Share button look like a cheap gimmick.
4. Overload us with media functionality. Announce partnerships with gaming media groups like, say Gametrailers. Work with these groups to create a symbiotic relationship.
5. Emphasize similarity to PC hardware.
6. Wait as long as possible to announce a price, and make sure the price isn't higher than the PS4's.
7. Make sure the NextBox's Call of Duty "Whatever number we're on" is the definitive version
8. Feature backwards compatibility
9. If Microsoft is feeling confident in themselves, they can show off the NextBox's high quality build. Maybe they can do something ridiculous like have somebody come out on stage holding it, "accidentally" drop the unit, plug it in, and still have it work.

Not all of these are necessary, and other things would be cool. But as an Xbox-agnostic, this would all impress me.
