Well it certainly helped the Wii when it launched, so I'd imagine it will help the Wii U as well.

You're joking i hope? Both DQ Swords and DQ X Boosted Wii sales about 30k in Japan, with sales falling almost back to normal levels the week after.

It's still a boost though, no? Even if it's a small one.

It'll probably be a little bigger than, say, Persona launching on Vita last year. The big reason I say that is because every Premium Wii U bundle comes with a Beta Demo of the game. That's got to count for something!

Sorry i thought you where implying that it would give a huge boost and solve the Wii-U's problem, but yes every boost counts at this point.

This is pretty much the only Q1 game in Japan that is going to make any sales inroad, so they'll have to hope it does well.

Does the Wii version of DQX work on Wii-U, out of interest?

I can see it performing fairly decently. There will be people out there who would've been waiting for this version, and I can imagine the game as a whole working much better on the gamepad. That said, I don't think it'll skyrocket the console; just provide a boost for a week or two.

That's an interest point, the Wii version should work on the Wii-U, though i'm not sure if the online servers support it.
