Mensrea said: Well, it's very early in the year, and there are other big games coming out, but it's the best handheld game I've played. I know that seems like hyperbole, but I really just love it. So it will definitely be up there at least for me. |
^ This. I've put about 17 hours into the game now and I have never enjoyed any other handheld game as much as this one. Mario Kart 7 online is the only thing even close for me in terms of pure fun.
Maybe I'm biased, though. When I was a kid my 2 favourite games were Shining Force 1 &2, and this has a very similiar feel except everything is improved, naturally, since it's been 2 decades since the first SF was released.
Damn, I'm so old =(

where have you been? lol. Why haven't you played GCN~Wii Versions? Those are the best (tied with this game imo). But FE awakening improves alot of stuff.

I missed out on a lot of Nintendo games in the past decade or so. Around 1999 I got really into PC gaming. I purchased most of the consoles since then, but really only invested a lot of time in Xbox(360) because PC gaming turned me into a multiplayer junkie. I only bought and played the really big console single player releases like Mario and Zelda. I also never owned a handheld until I grabbed my 3DS randomly one day last year. I was in Best Buy and they had a demo set up with MK 7. I played it for like 3 minutes and was hooked.
At any rate, I'm glad I own a 3DS and really happy that I've finally gotten to experience FE =) I'll probably go back and play as many of the previous games in the series as I can once I'm sick of Awakening.

good luck, all FE games are expensive now! You need to get the gamecube and wii versions that star Ike (fav FE character). Story is great gameplay and its maps were the best! If you need help of wat type of games to play, i can help! I recommend this to anybody with wanting a challenge (mentally) but still have a good time lol
