So With Fire Emblem Awakening released in NoA and soon to be Europe, Why should this game be the best handheld game of the year? For me its alot of good reasons. Even if the year just started I love the fact that i can say this is my personal favorite handheld title in a long time (KIU very close though).

So If you believe this should be handheld of the year or just simply close to it (runnerup), Why?

Really, we're barely into February and ppl are already talking about handheld GOTY smh. I don't understand the appeal of Awakening, I want to like it, I've seen gameplay vids and read reviews on it but it just doesn't do it for me (im a big fan of JRPGs so it's not because of that). Anyways, Pokemon X/Y, Castlevania Mirror of Fate and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon will give it a run for GOTY not to mention Monster Hunter (not a big fan but I see the appeal for it). A nominee for GOTY for sure, but it's too early for this type of thread IMO.

Well, it's very early in the year, and there are other big games coming out, but it's the best handheld game I've played. I know that seems like hyperbole, but I really just love it. So it will definitely be up there at least for me.

^ This. I've put about 17 hours into the game now and I have never enjoyed any other handheld game as much as this one. Mario Kart 7 online is the only thing even close for me in terms of pure fun.

Maybe I'm biased, though. When I was a kid my 2 favourite games were Shining Force 1 &2, and this has a very similiar feel except everything is improved, naturally, since it's been 2 decades since the first SF was released.

where have you been? lol. Why haven't you played GCN~Wii Versions? Those are the best (tied with this game imo). But FE awakening improves alot of stuff.
