Black/White 2 isn't the same thing thing because it is a sequal to black/white. 
Pokemon Yellow, Crystal, Platinum weren't sequals to their relative games. Just Extra Flavors.

Fine you win if you cut off the overall data at GBA, then the Pokemon Franchise is growing barring no other factors.

But, you admit Final Fantasy is growing then?
