I don't think Ouya has a chance to winning this gen, but of the new consoles (Steambox, Shield, whatever) it has the best chance for making some impact. They learned two things and made them right, instead of the others:
a) Own games, not only Android or stuff, but games developed for the platform.
b) Price.
I probably will get one - for the simple reason, that I can try myself and program some little stuff for it. That will be much more interesting than programming for PC. Ouya has free devkits, but more importantly it is not needed to pay license fees for publishing something.

Hmm.. I'm starting to come around to the idea that there might be a market for this. It's doubtful that it will take away from the traditional hardware manufacturers, but the idea of being able to program on it may draw be in - eventually, some people may come up with good stuff, just like some people created good levels in LittleBigPlanet.
Also, that Time Robo prototype looks like it has some potential.

Well, I think Ouya will be successful, if they sell more than 1 million, and I expect it to be below 10 million in sales. That is nothing that bothers the classic manufacturers.
Also I think it not only appeals to programmers or game-artists, that want a platform to try out things. It is cheap (99$), more importantly the games are cheap or are even free to play or Open Source Software to begin with. But it has not only the Android-catalog of games, buit some developed for the platform. That is nothing that makes it interesting for classic console-gamers, but it is interesting for people, that so far only play web-games or games on smartphones. Ouya is the next step (and long term they could be interested in the console-market at whole).
