I agree it is one of the sturdiest gaming machines and definitly THE most sturdy handhelds. But the thread is about consoles like the 35 years old and still going Atari 2600.

Technically we can bring up handhelds, as it is kind of an open-ended question.  

Sure. It's a blury line, but I think they are so different that when someone says console it means the thing hooked up to your TV and if they say handheld it means the thing in your pocket.

As for the Gameboy being hardy. It's probably because it was made to travel. When a home console can take a licking and keep on ticking it's more impressive because it wasn't designed for a trip down the Amazon.
