The touchscreen controller is OK, but the Wiimote was a revolution that completely changed the way people played and thought about games period (get up off the couch).
It's not so much that the touchscreen pad is good/bad/indifferent, it's that its not anywhere close to the same sales hook as the Wiimote was six years ago.
That's the problem Nintendo has.
