While its true PS3 has sold at a faster rate its also true if you compare launch to launch the PS3 is also declining at a faster rate than the 360 did

Yea, Kinect did an amazing job at revitalising the 360, but personally I believe they could have had a bigger and more lasting impact if they managed to fulfill all the promises of the tech the first time around. I'm not sure if people will give it a real second chance, especially seasoned gamers, but well maybe they do, then that's perfect for MS.

problem is: the tech kinect delivers is really far beyond just gaming. at my faculty our robotics-engineers and lecturers went to all stores to buy kinect for research-purposes as it was very cheap for a 3d-depth-camera-tech. its true potential needs research and a lot of time to fulfill what ms wanted to do with it. the tech by now seems still a little bit ahead for games. ms is by now only scraping the possibilities that can be done with kinect. of course they will deliver better tech with nextbox (lag, bandwidth) but will also show more possibilities with 3d-point-clusters. and no, kinect is not eyetoy ;)
