Yes it will hurt them as there will be no software sales for these systems - however, insurance will cover for the stolen wii u's. All is good.

Why would no software be sold for these consoles?  Are they just going to sit around and look pretty on someone's shelf?

Well, now that I think about it, if they get caught I guess they are just going to sit in an evidence locker.
