So, you're saying that Sony actually sold (to consumers) 70m consoles weeks ago (unless there's an abundance of units sitting in distribution centers)?

No, I'm saying I doubt they shipped 2.14 million in the month of October. Does the concept of sell more ship less make sense to you? Like I said, I think 1/2/2 million makes the most sense. So where does that bring us? Well if I think Sony shipped 1 million in October and they had 70 million at the end of it... that means I think they had 69 million shipped at the end of last quarter.... So let's take a look at Sold according to VGC 66.7 million. Hm... er... what could this possibly mean? VGC undertracked the Ps3 since they started including Ps2 with shipment figures. Now lets look at shipment figures. 2.8 and 3.5 million in the last 2 quarters ps3 + ps2... In order for the shipment figures to add up with VGC the Ps2 would have needed to ship 2.2 million of those 6.3 million in the last two quarters. Yet, the Ps2 shipped .9 million from Oct - Dec last year! That would mean the Ps2 would need to ship more units each quarter than it did during the holidays last year. Include the fact the the ps2 has shipped .6million the following quarter and has been on a decline I can't see ps2 making up 35% of shipments from the last two quarters.

Now we know the Ps3 shipped 63.9 million at the end of last FY. If Sony matched their Jan-March shipments for the Ps2 in March - Sept that would mean the Ps3 shipped... anyone? anyone? SIXTY NINE!!!
