The PS3 really did have an awful start.
As mbp has just proven, people love to compare the PS3 to the PS2. When taking into account what was expected of the PS3 it was awful. It had no meaningful support and sales were tanking all over. It was late to the generation and launched alongside a console more hyped than anything. It had nothing really "worthwhile" until MGS4 released.
The 360 had a good start. It had the Year advantage and didnt have shitty ports for 3 Years. It had Halo and Gears alongside other true "next-gen" games and was the follow-up to the Xbox.
It was an awful start for a PlayStation. It was a great start for an Xbox.
