I'd like you to find those posts, because I never said PS360's decline was or would be due to WiiU or anything else but the fact that this gen is ending and they are down YOY in double digits already.

Sure 700k is nice, but last year it was 1m. That's a ~30% drop. Part is obviously a gen ending and part might be related to WiiU or 3DS or Apple or a sale on Oreos. Wii was also down due to gen ending and frankly, the Wii being saturated in the market with no new content at all.

Anyone's point that this is some sort of victory for MS is very wrong. Facts are 360 and PS3 are down, significantly, YOY. The gen is over. By this time next year, WiiU will be in 10 million sold range and neXtBox/PS4 will be on shelves.

EDIT: one more note, PS360 were heavily adverstized in EVERY black friday ad. Did you see any WiiU ads?

on advertising i received a one to one on WiiU and 360 ads, i cannot recall getting any PS3 ads most of the 360 adds were for the new bundle and the 50 bucks off, the WiiU ads were more hey there is a new console, from amazon and gamestop mainly. note i do not watch tv outside of football games anymore.

and while i do not consider it a victory its still pretty damn good sales considering the price should be down to about 149 now for a 360 with an hdd being able to hold sales up this year at 199 means they may give it a go one more year, release the set top box in-between next year and a full console the year after a few places have rumored to a two prong microsoft move next generation with a low end option aimed at media consumption more then gaming and a true 360 successor later 

 

personally i feel the two pronged option will only confuse some buyers and dilute the brand name, i also feel MS has been destroying the 360 brand for the last two sub par GUI updates... this years should have been what we saw last year and its still has many usability problems. I feel like MS is sacrificing usability in the name of uniformity and hoping the can force it across all platforms regardless of if it makes sense how its being used or if it slows users down.... and as an added benefit drive up ad revenue
