I'll chime in here: a few developers have commented saying that the CPU and RAM are both lacking, although to what extent, nobody really knows since the system's pieces work together and singling out a certain piece doesn't really tell the correct story.
This translates into:
1) People who hate Nintendo or the Wii U = Wii U sucks and isn't next gen!
2) People who love Nintendo or the Wii U = These developers don't understand what they're talking about!
Rebuttals to the RAM and CPU concerns I've heard are the following:
1) RAM: The edram supposedly makes up for what people are considering poor RAM
2) CPU: Apparently certain traditional CPU functions are being laid over to the GPU on the Wii U
I'm not the biggest tech guy, so I can't really comment further.
