Who buys digital copies of games anyway? Only a fool would spend $60 on non-physical media that has no real value once purchased. Are you too lazy to drive to the store, or too cheap to spend a couple extra bucks for shipping when buying online (which is free on Amazon for anything over $25 for example)?

I guarantee you that the number of people who will actually buy digital copies of retail games on the Wii U is so small that Nintendo figured why waste extra money on more internal storage when the vast majority of their user base will never utilize it.

You don't own the data on that disc either.

The reason digital is appealing is the same reason people buy mp3's over CDs. Can be cheaper, far easier to store, easier to use, faster to use, overall the same quality but simplier and potentially cheaper.

If Steam and Nintendo's reported sales of initial digital games on the 3DS (a system with an even worse storage limitation) is any indication, it will be very well received.

Huh?  You mean people actually pay money for mp3's?!?

What is this madness???

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
