I think amazon charges sales tax bases on a few things. Their location and your location. Where i live (in the US) there is a 7% sales tax but amazon doesnt charge tax. I think this is because they are based out of somewhere that doesnt require taxes. BUT in some states (like (i think) california) there is a mandatory sales tax on all bought goods so amazon has to charge them taxes. I dont really know a ton about this but saying its only based on your location has to be false...i think. So i guess i will refine my question. Does Amazon.ca charge sales tax throughout the entirety of canada and if it does, is it the same amount as if you bought something from the store?
