man you really try hard to let the other companies always look bad... are you married with nintendo or something? i mean, you already posted in this thread but then you thought you "have to" pull that out as additional post or what?
other companies don't do it as bad practice, other companies do it because the technology they build in the consoles at release just can't be in such a small case and only with improving technology they can build a smaller console after some time. or to reduce own costs which is only just normal.
nintendo doesn't have to do it as long as their consoles have a decent size from beginning.
ok now you could argue sony did that with as example the ps2 without need but many customers were pretty happy to get a much smaller console so why not?
or they realize the console isn't a beauty after some time and release a new design, why not? why should a company have the same design for 8 years or something if they know custumers would like another design more? just look at he first 360 and the redesign now, microsoft coul still release the old design just with better quality as they had the first years but this design now is much more appealing for most, it was good to change the design.
