That sounds like a good comparison to me.
The main difference, of course, is their career background. Romney is a businessman; Kerry was a career politician (and a military serviceman before that). This is Romney's greatest advantage, and he's letting the Democrats turn it against him. If he would just come fully clean, release his tax returns, and state that he will not apologise for his wealth or success, he might actually have a shot at winning this election.
Not that I especially want him to win this election, what with that mess of a political party behind him at the moment. I don't much like Obama either, but dear god, at least the man can go to another country without insulting it, and at least his party is just irritatingly spendthrift and preachy rather than full-out insane.
