Newsflash... the Wii U is more powerful than PS360, and is capable of doing things that neither of those consoles can do like displaying a multiplayer shooter in full HD at 60 fps on a TV screen while simultaneously displaying the game on the controller's second screen for player 2.  And the visuals, AI, and other features for Wii U games will only improve as developers move their resources from PS360 to creating games and engines from the ground up with all 3 next gen consoles in mind.

And if you really think that the jump from current gen to PS4 and 720 is going to be leaps and bounds over current gen consoles right when they launch next year like we saw at the beginning of the HD era this gen, then you are sorely mistaken.  If you want a glimpse as to what you can expect from those consoles at launch, just look at games like Star Wars 1313 or Watch Dogs.

I don't think of the Wii U being next gen right now.  That's not a knock on the Wii U, either.  I believe next gen to be a function of both hardware and software.  The Wii U might be next gen hardware but the majority of titles appearing on it right now are current gen.  If it's playing the same titles as the PS4/720 after they launch, then, in my opinion, it will be "next gen".  Long story short, next gen isn't here yet.

On topic, I think Microsoft is dedicated to Kinect.  If Kinect functionality becomes integrated into the 720, which raises the price tag, then I'm not really going to be interested.  I hope that Sony, at least, stays core-centric.  I'm really not all that interested in "innovation" with regards to motion controls.

The one thing that probably has me most optimistic for the PS4 is the information from Sony Worldwide Studios that developers like Naughty Dog were heavily consulted during the planing and design stages.

Sure Kinect is going to be packed it, but I don't think it will be the focus. But it doesn't matter to me so long has Halo stays the same and 343i seems like they only want to evolve Halo, not revolutionise it.

I always get all the systems, just not at the same time or at launch. If I had to pick only two it would be NextBox for Halo/Forza/Gears and Wii U for Mario/Zelda/Metroid.
