I'm not going to buy it, yet. I'll get it down the line when the games I want come out.
I've bought every Nintendo system for the same reason. Nintendo's main franchises. When the 3D Mario, Zelda, or Metroid hit I'll buy a Wii U. But even NSMBU isn't enough to get me to spend $350 plus more for the game. By the time the games I want come out it will probably be a lot cheap to compete with the full next gen consoles anyway. I care even less about the touch screen controler than I did about the motion controls of the Wii, and that's saying a lot becuase I still don't like motion controls. There's no reason for me to spend any money at launch.
When Nintendo gives me a reason I'll be happy to play my favorite games again.
